2025 No Frills Doubles Results

Open Doubles – Adam and Dan Zimet came away with another Open Doubles title at the 2025 No Frills Handball Tournament, beating Vincent Yam and Larry Defauw in two games. The Open Doubles division featured two competitive groups. In Group 1, The Zimets dominated with two commanding wins and a remarkable point differential, securing first place. Andrew Reiersen and Jay Cattron placed second after a hard-fought three-game victory over Osburn and Larose. Group 2 saw Larry Defauw and Vincent Yam emerge as the top team, winning both of their matches in two highly competitive group. Despite a strong effort, the team of Vargas and Stevens finished second, while Chavez and Botero placed third.

Contenders Doubles – In the Contenders division, Joe Berman and Alan Frank claimed first place with a dominant 3–0 match record, winning all six games and outscoring their opponents 126 to 41. Eric Gunzelman and Chuck Epstein secured second place with a 2–1 record, showing strong consistency throughout the bracket. Terrazas and Rivera finished third, while Snyder and Cohen placed fourth. The division featured several competitive matchups, including a thrilling three-game battle between Gunzelman/Epstein and Snyder/Cohen, which ended in a narrow 11–10 tiebreaker.

Legends Doubles – In the Legends division, Stephen Bossung and Roger Berry secured first place with a strong 3–0 match record, winning 5 games and scoring 117 points while conceding only 45. Peter Peart and Bob Humphreys followed in second place with a 2–1 record after a close loss against Bossung/Berry. Dan Ho and Jed Alexander finished third with one match win, while Keith Neihart and Joe Callier placed fourth. The division featured several decisive victories, including Bossung/Berry’s win over Neihart/Callier and Peart/Humphreys’ opening win over Ho/Alexander. Notably, two matches were decided in tiebreakers: Peart/Humphreys vs. Neihart/Callier and Ho/Alexander vs. Neihart/Callier, both of which ended in close two-game sets with narrow margins.
